FNS/2019 will be held in the beautiful small town of Palm Springs, California. Given its 350 sunny days per year and its average winter temperature of 74°F (24°C), Palm Springs became a fashionable resort destination starting in the 1900’s for easterners wishing to escape frigid winters. Its proximity to Hollywood (about 2h by car) also accounts for its legendary popularity with film stars, which dates from the 1930’s to the present. Today, it remains a popular winter destination for both sun seekers and aficionados of desert landscapes. Several spectacular National Parks are nearby, notably Joshua Tree NP and Death Valley NP.
