FNS/2019 Registration Fees:

Prospective participants must register online, at REGISTER/SUBMIT page. Please also submit your presentation abstract when you register (formatting instructions are also provided at the REGISTER/SUBMIT page). Please note that contributed talks will be selected from abstracts submitted on or before 4 Nov 2018, so don’t delay! Submitting a presentation is not required for participation in FNS/2019. However, if the workshop becomes oversubscribed, acceptance will be preferentially given to applicants who contribute an abstract relevant to the workshop. Special consideration will be given to members of the press, research funding agencies, and philanthropic organizations.

Student rates are available to currently-enrolled graduate students who provide confirmation of their active academic status by their advisor or institution.

Important Details:

• Registration fee includes: workshop registration, most meals, and conference reception and banquet. Two dinners will be “self-hosted”. Additional charges for accompanying persons are detailed on the registration page.
• Hotel rooms must be booked directly with the hotel. A reduced conference rate has been negotiated, but the cost of lodging is not included in the registration fees.
• Cancellation requests must be made in writing to Cherie Capri (ccapri@caltech.edu). Please note the following schedule for refunds:
  • Registration fees can be refunded in full until November 4, 2018.
  • From November 5 to December 15, 2018, an administrative fee of $300.00 USD will be deducted from any refund provided.
  • No refunds can be made after December 15, 2018.
• Please note!: Hotel cancellations must be arranged separately, directly with the hotel.

Conference Hotel:

The conference will be held at the Renaissance Palm Springs Hotel. A special room rate of $179.00 USD per night, plus taxes, has been negotiated for registered participants of FNS/2019. A variety of room types are available; these are available on a first-come/first-serve basis, and can accommodate either single or multiple occupancy. Booking several additional days before or after the conference at the conference rate is also possible, pending availability, for those wishing to extend their stay. Please note, the cut-off date to take advantage of our FNS/2019 negotiated rate is either 10 January 2019, or when the reserved room block becomes full.

The conference organizers will book rooms for all invited speakers and will provide individual confirmations to each.

Transportation

Participants may choose to fly directly into the closest major airport, Los Angeles International (LAX). LAX has all major car rental agencies; the trip to Palm Springs will generally take about two hours by car, depending upon traffic. A map is provided below.

Alternatively, there is a smaller airport local to the conference venue – specifically, the Palm Springs International Airport (PSP). The workshop hotel runs a free shuttle service to and from the airport, so you won’t need a car if you fly into PSP.
